VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES AT THE ABUNDANT GARDEN

Contact us at: ambraighfarm6@gmail.com

As part of our mission to we believe that is possible to live abundantly to create strong vibrant communities with the skill and resilience to grow sustainable nutritious food, for oneself, their family and community.   Our outreach projects strive to provide access to those in our community who may not otherwise be able to.

Our outreach programming works with our partners to not only to grow and provide food for the community but to also work with groups and individuals ranging from children to newcomers to Canada teaching them the skills to be able to grow their own food.   Please feel free to reach out to see if you would like to work with any of these programming opportunities.

Working with newcomers to Canada

This article profiles our work with recent newcomers to Canada https://www.inthehills.ca/2022/09/feeding-the-soul/

Working with the local neurodivergent community through Branching Out Support Services

Thanks to the financial support of the Orangeville District Horticultural Society, we can work with Branching Out Support Services who support neurodivergent adults in our community. Every week we grow pea shoots and microgreens that are then donated to the Orangeville Food Bank.

Working with students from Headwater Hills Montessori School

Learning how to grow your own food is an important life skill that most schools do not teach.   Yet, it is a transformative process that builds confidence, resilience as well as encouraging healthy and active living.

Every spring, we work with middle school students giving them the opportunity to see the natural abundance of nature.
