Feedback from students:

“The classes offered in depth information on how to grow both early and late in the season which allowed our family to eat fresh veggies from mid May to mid November this year, as Jamie taught us how to use cold frames and floating row covers with both transplants and seeds. But maybe the best part was being able to work in the soil in the growing tunnels as early as March! What a gift.”

“I was already buying my vegetables from Jamie and thought if I can grow veggies like these, it might be worth it. Well, I was not disappointed! Not only did we learn how to extend the growing season, but he also taught us how to grow more in less space throughout the growing season. We planted several gardens in the greenhouse starting in March using transplants and seeds, we planted more in April and eventually planted outside. We harvested continuously, keeping me out of the produce isle, from April to the end of June when the course ended. There was enough to feed our family of 5 good quality produce every night with dinner using three 4’ x 8’ garden plots. The course even included planting seeds to make our own transplants that we were able to take home and plant in our gardens which kept producing throughout the summer. It is now December, and I still have produce growing in my unheated greenhouse that will supply us with cold hardy varieties of greens, carrots, onions and beets until the end of the year. From the harvest gathered and the knowledge gained I can honestly say that the course was well worth every penny”.
